Honesty is the entire business model of this site, so here’s the plain version.
Some of the links on The Novelist’s Stack are affiliate links. If you click one and subscribe to or buy a product, I may earn a commission. This costs you nothing extra — you pay the same price you would have anyway, and in some cases you may even get a reader discount.
Here’s what I promise about how I use them:
- I only recommend tools I’ve actually used. If I haven’t tested it, I’ll say so.
- The commission never changes my verdict. I recommend the same tools I’d recommend to a friend who could never pay me a cent.
- I always tell you who a tool is wrong for. A recommendation that can’t name its downsides isn’t worth trusting.
- I flag anything I can’t verify rather than guessing about prices, features, or claims.
Affiliate commissions are what keep this site running and let me spend the time testing tools properly instead of churning out generic reviews. If you find something here useful and choose to buy through one of my links, thank you — it genuinely helps.
